Speedup your Megacubo

When watching some channels, the broadcast can give some “hiccups”, this happens when a channel requires a faster connection or if the channel server is in a distant country or overloaded, with many users watching at that time.

If even with a connection speed greater than 5MB (minimum recommended) your Megacubo slows or is crashing, below are some tips to improve the speed of channels and the application, starting with the most important ones.

1. KEEP YOUR VERSION UP TO DATE

We are constantly applying improvements to the program, these improvements come with the new versions and to receive them you must update the program. If your version is out of date, the program will probably warn you a few seconds after opening.

To upgrade, simply download the installer of the new version and install, it is not necessary to uninstall the previous version before.

To manually check if your version is installed, click “About” in the app to see the installed version, it will be a number in a format similar to 16.1.2. Then compare this number with the current version that is on the Megacubo download page.

2. SHARING MODE VS PAYLIST

If you’re using Community Mode, when a broadcast is having problems, click the refresh icon (“two arrows in circle” icon) on player controls. Or, use the program search to find more options of the desired content. Some transmissions are lighter than others or are on less overloaded servers.

If all streams found of the desired content are slow or the app is running slowly on your device, the solution would be to disable Community Mode and add a paid IPTV list to the program to ensure the quality of the streams.

In Community Mode, Megacubo loads between 18 and 24 lists shared by other users, each with possibly thousands of contents, this can weigh on the application’s performance, especially on a TV box. So, if it’s an option for you, consider hiring an IPTV service to be able to disable Community Mode on Megacubo and thus make the application lighter and faster.

3. ENJOY YOUR SSD

If you have an SSD disk, be sure to install your Megacubo on it. Megacubo makes reasonable use of the disk, so moving it to an SSD disk, which is much faster than a traditional HD, will give a good improvement in the performance of your Megacubo.

4. RELEASE YOUR CONNECTION

For the good performance of transmissions it is essential that your connection is free to be used. So be sure to close P2P, torrent programs or download accelerators while watching channels, programs like uTorrent, jDownloader, Ares, etc.

Also keep in mind that the number of people using the internet during the day is much higher than at night and this also influences the speed of the connection. So always remember that the night your internet gets faster, especially at dawn.

5. H265 BROADCASTS

If all the streams you watch are in H265 format, prefer to use the Android version of the program, which plays these streams better.

To find out if the broadcast you are watching in the program is in this format, just click on the three-point icon in the lower right corner of the player controls.

If you are using Megacubo on your computer and have problems with these transmissions, you can also disable the opening of streams in this format by clicking > Advanced options > Playback > Transcoding > Never.

6. RELEASE MEMORY

If necessary, try to close heavy, memory-intensive programs such as image editors or browsers with many open tabs.

You can check the programs that are taking up the most memory on your computer by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys (in Windows) or by using similar tool to check memory usage on other operating systems.

7. SPEED UP INTERFACE INSTEAD OF TRANSMISSIONS

If you’re using the program on an old computer (or device) and Megacubo is slow to open menus and channels, try clicking Options > Performance Mode > For slow devices.

This way Megacubo will disable some options to make the interface lighter. This can also improve channel loading, at the cost of some broadcasts maybe running out of sound. If this occurs, simply click on the refresh icon on player controls.

8. CABLE INSTEAD OF WI-FI

Your wi-fi connection may not be stable enough for live streams. Therefore, if it is an option for you, prefer to connect your device directly to the router with a network cable, rather than using the wireless internet.

9. BATTERY OPTIMIZATION (Android)

If you’re using the Android version, be sure to release the Megacubo from Android battery optimization, as it limits app performance.
