How to install Megacubo?

In this article we’ll show you how to install the Megacubo on your device in a few steps.

On Android

To install Megacubo on any Android device, such as a TV box or smartphone, simply access megacubo.tv in your device’s browser, download the APK file and install it.

If there is an error in installing the downloaded APK file, try downloading the 64-bit version by clicking on “ARM64 Version” on our page, packaging the download button.

If you are not able to download the APK file through browser to install it, you’ll have to follow one of the two methods below (in order of preference).

1. Installing an Android smart TV with the Downloader by AFTVNews

  1. Open the Play Store (Google Play) on the TV.
  2. Search for Downloader by AFTVNews in the Play Store and install it.
  3. Open the app, type number 806315 (or 785920 if your TV for 64-bit) on the text field and click the yellow button.
  4. When the download finishes, click Install.

2. Installing an Android smart TV with Send Files to TV

To install using the Send Files to TV application, you will need another Android device besides the TV, such as a smartphone, tablet or TV box. Check out the tutorial in this video.

On Windows

  1. Download the installer by clicking here.
  2. After the download, click to open the installer and follow the installer steps to install.
  3. Ready! Your Megacubo is installed and configured, just click on “Channels” and choose the desired channel from the list.

Possible errors and their solutions

As not everything in life is flowers, it is possible that some error occurs during the installation, but do not worry, then we will show you how to solve each one of them. Look:

1. Program does not open

If you installed the program but it did not open at the end, or opened on the day of installation but not some day after, this may be a bug related to the Windows cache corrupting the loading of the framework NW.js, with which we developed the Megacubo.

To resolve, download the alternate installer and install the program again taking care to change the installation folder during the process. For example, if the installation folder is like …AppData/Roaming/Megacubo/ you can add a number to the end of the folder, getting something like this: …AppData/Roaming/Megacubo1/

2. False positive

Unfortunately, some antivirus software triggers alertness with newly-installed installers, taking days or even weeks for them to recognize the installer as secure.

There are two alternatives to get around this:

A. Pause your antivirus and download the installer, install and activate the antivirus again after installation.

B. Or, if you prefer, use the installer that is hosted on GitHub.

On Linux

Megacubo is also available for Linux, just access our download page from the device on which you want to install the program. If you prefer, you can find installers for other systems on our GitHub .

You can also download and install it on Linux easily by running the command below in your terminal:

wget -qO- https://megacubo.tv/install.sh | bash

On MacOS

Megacubo is not digitally signed on macOS, so when you open it you will likely just see an error dialog saying that Megacubo is an application from an unknown developer.

To work around this error, instead of opening the program with normal click, hold the Control key, right click and select “Open”. Thus, when opening the warning dialog mentioned above, you will have the option “Open”, just click on it.
